This passage talked about where the Cornrow originated (which is Africa). It talks about where it was in culture and who used it in history. It also talks some about the afro and when it began to be popular and when its popularity began to fade. Math is incorporated because of symmetry. In order for this look to be good, you have to have both sides look equal, and not uneven. It is also using patterns, and we can see that in every picture there is at least some symmetry and some patterns.

It talks about math because it says original African styles are natural and our computer scale geometry models are artificial. It also says mathematics is a traditional part of African hairstyles.

Cornrow braids are both stylish and mathematical. Cornrows are mostly in Africa because of their culture. When you look at the cornrow styles, you can see each side of the head key be equal, this is the use of symetry. Also, you may see different and unique styles and patterns, this is geometric.

The article was about braiding styles that dated back to 500 bc. It also spread through traditions. It could be math related because it had patterns and some symmetrical sides. But the designs in the hair are like snaps and the people are gonna want both sides to be even.

The braids have been part of African culture, dating back to 500 B.C. They signify religion, power and ethnicity. The braids survived during the Middle Passage even though the slaves were forced to shave their heads. During the Antebellum Era, many African slaves were forced to keep a nice presentation and many braided their hair tightly. Even today, the braids are still used. Mathematics are incorporated by the complex designs of the braids.

Cornrow braids aren't Just popular in Africa but all around the world. They are very ancient toting back to 500 B.C. Many things are accosiated with the braids. Such as status, kindship, also age, ethnicity, and religion. To people who see them wear them it show cultral bonds with generatons, friendships, and high stature. It may not seem so but math was associated in making the braids. The hairsltyles did survive the Middle Passage. Even though they were usually shaved on board they making the braids in the New world as resistance. As they worked they were forced to appear nice and tidy with braids as you can guess cornrow. Many of them wore the braids as defiance. After the civil war many African Americans wore their hair flat except for little girls who still wore cornrow braids. In the 1950's cornrows were "rediscovered" and worn by many African women. In the 1970's cornrows were on the rise worn by many famous black people. Also in the 80's and 90's they were still popular. But now they are high in Style. In conclusion, this is what I learned on cornrow braids.

The passage is about cornrow braiding. It originated in Africa, and dates back as far as 500 B.C. Sculptures and hieroglyphs go back thousands of years proving that con row braiding was used back then. It deals with math because of the symmetry on each side of the person's head, and it deals with geometry too, with the different models and styles.

I learned that braiding and cornrowing is originated from Africa. Back then different hair styles ment diffrente things. cornrowing became big and started to become popular. Even pop stars and famous rap people wear them. Now everybody likes cornrows. The mathematics in cornrowing are the geometry lines and they are sometimes symmetrical Or just random swirls.

This passage was about braiding and cornrows and also about how far back it went. Like how the slaves used to wear them. I think math is involved with this because of geometry and symmetrical math.
