The Cornrow braid originated from Africa, and it is quite ancient. We can see the braid on old sculptures and in pictures. The hairstyle expresses a wide social terrain: religion, age, status, etc. The Cornrow braid holds lot's of history behind it and brings meaning to those who use it today. It Is beautifully styled geometrically with patterns. I quote the article, " mathematics is also a tradition part of African hairstyle." They designed the braid with different geometric features.
