In order for you to understand the picture above you would need to know what; "3-5", "6-9", and "1-3" mean. You would also need to know why certain parts of the map are highlighted in a certain color code. Math was used in making this picture to find the probability of each event/possibility.

Probably graphing skills are required to read this map.graphing is needed because the map is split into sections were there are different numbers just like a real graph.

The math concept that is necessary is an understanding of measurements so, that you will have an idea of how much snow you are predicted to get.

The first think you would need to know is unit of measurement, to get an idea of how much snow is to come. You would also need to know a bit of geography to get an Idea of the location. Lastly, you would also probably need to know a little bit about scale to get an even better idea of your location.

In this picture you need to understands negative and positive numbers because those two types of numbers are represented to tell viewers about how low or high the temperature is. In this picture both negative and positive numbers represent really low temperature meaning it is going to be cold!

In this picture you would need to know what the numbers mean and how close they are to zero. One example would be the negative 5, someone could not know thats below zero and that thats very cold.

You have to know percents, how the thermometer works, and negatives and positives. Another thing that you need to know is below freezing levels.

Understanding this map/diagram takes many math skills. One of them is knowledge of math symbols. You have to know what x" means, that being x amount of inches. Also you have to know about probability with a chancertain of getting 6-9 inches of snow. This is just a prediction of the weather not a confirmed amount. For all we know, we could get 0 inches to 10 inches of snow. Anot her skill you need is time. The time frames is Wendsday- PM-Thursday. You have to know it is not projected to snow all Thursday, only until the evening of Thursday.

The math skills you need to know to read the map is that you need to know the " mean inches. Also when you see numbers like (6"-9") this means the amount of snow will be in between 6 and 9 inches. You also need to know how to count because if you don't you might not prepare right. Also you need to know that the map shows an estimate of the snow fall. In other subjects you need to know how to read (LA), read a map(SS), and know what precipitation it shows (science).

In order to understand this picture you need to know what the numbers represent. You also need to know what this is: ". It's also helpful to have an understanding of probability because these are approximate measurements.

When looking at this picture you need to know what negatives are in order to understand the amount of inches. You also need to know how to look at the map to know where you are. I think you also need to know the difference between AM and PM. Also they are predicting or estimating if we will get snow or not which had something to do with math.

You would need to know how to read a key and also you would nhave to be able to read the Map and understand the quotations.eed to know how to make a good estimate. You would also need to know what the dash and the quotations meant. In order to tell how much rain a city would get you would have to be able to read the Map and understand the quotations.

The math concept needed to understand this picture is probability. Probability is important to this picture because you need to know the chances of getting a certain amount of weather.

Guessing how many inches of snow we will have. What the temperature will be. Where and when it will hit.

Well for one you have to know how to read a map. And know math symbols. Also probability because you COULD get 6"-9" but you COULD get more or less.

Some skills you may need to know are measurement, metrology, and maybe ratios. Measurement because you'll need to know what 3"-5" means. Metrology is the study of weather so you'll need this math skill to know what type of kind of weather it is and maybe went that type of weather is occurring. Ratios need to be included because with the 3"-5" you need to know the chances of getting that weather.

The math skills/concepts needed in order to be a weather person would be to know how to work with negative and positive numbers, and figure out how close they are to zero. You also have to know how to know what the numbers are for the thermometer and the way it's being measured.

When I looked at this picture I saw many examples of math such as " means inches and not feet. Also you need to understand negative and positive numbers so you can be sure to know how much snow you will get.

When I looked at the picture the firest thing that came to my mind was inches and and the amount of snow you may get if you get any. I also saw the negativEssential and positive numbers on the chart.
