Marjorie Lee Browne was one of the first African Americans to have gotten a Ph.D. in mathematics, which was of course super hard. She went to North Carolina Central University.

Major Lee Browne was a noted mathematics educator. She taught at North Carolina University (NCCU) for 30 years. She contributed to the field of mathematics by offering students financial support to pursue higher education.

Marjorie Lee Browne was a mathematician and an educator, she was the third African-American women to earn a PHD in her field. Born in Tennessee on September 9, 1914, Browne earned her PHD in mathematics at the University of Michigan in 1949. She was named chair of the Mathematics Department, she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. She taught at North Carolina Central University.

She contributed to the field of mathematics By being chair of the department and teaching undergraduate and graduate students. She also helped African American girls know that they can achieve in the educational field. she taught at Wiley college while going to North Carolina Central University.

Majorie Lee Brown was a mathematician and professor, who taught at North Carolina Central University. She also went to school there, and got her ph.d. As a teacher, she pioneered the use of technology in mathematics, and even received a $60,000 dollar grant to set up a digital computer center at the college.

Marjorie Lee Browne was a very highly valued mathematics educator. Browne was one of the first African American women to receive a doctorate in mathematics. She was also a professor at North Carolina State University, where she taught and researched mathematics for thirty years. In October of 1979 she died of a heart attack, but a scholarship fund was made in her name.
